Shy Guy Desert was remade as Layer-Cake Desert for Mario Golf: World Tour, where it appears as Flower Pack downloadable content and is based on Layer-Cake Desert from New Super Mario Bros. Every time a hole is completed, a silhouette of a Shy Guy's face briefly appears. Shy Guy Desert is the longest course in the game at 6706 yards (6132 metres), and winning the course's tournament, the Shy Guy International, awards the player with 600 course points. Most holes are surrounded by beige-colored sand which counts as out of bounds. As a result, there are no water hazards, and rain rarely falls here. The course is largely a desert, possessing bunkers, cacti, waste area (acts similarly to deep rough) and abundant sand.
It is unlocked by obtaining 300 course points. Shy Guy Desert is the third course in Mario Golf for the Nintendo 64.
